He was the director of the Sixth CPPCC members, Shandong Province, and a member of Chinese Artists Association. Zhang Hongbin graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1960, and graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts and Crafts in 1965. In 1986, while at the Fine Arts Department of the Shandong Normal University, he was invited to go to American universities to give lectures, and later settled in the United States.
